Welcome to a stunning new hidden object game where you step into the shoes of an investigative reporter hot on the trail of a new murder. With an intriguing story, new twists on the normal gameplay and some great scenes there is a lot of great stuff in The Hidden Truth.
Jumping right into the action you get a call that there is something you should see and you search your desk for the items that you need. From there you are taken to a crime scene and along the way you will meet some new faces and characters and it will set the scene for the city you live in. There are quite a few faces in the game and they all have their unique personalities and goals.
When you play a scene it will cost you some of your energy bar, and this will refill over time and when you gain a new level you will also add more energy in one go. Once inside a scene you will have an objects list at the bottom and there is a hint button you can use but it is on a timer so takes a few seconds to refresh. There are also puzzle scenes where you need to move the pieces back to their original position or spot the differences between scenes.
Outside of the scenes there are quite a few new features that really make this game start to stand out. Beginning with the achievements that you can unlock, as you play the game there will be certain things that you complete, and when you do you will open the achievement and receive a reward, of coins and cards.
The cards are where it gets interesting, there are several different types, and some of them can be used to give you a big boost in the hidden object scenes, while others are characters that you use to complete achievements and fill in the story as you go. These character cards are also linked to the people that you meet, both the good guys and the bad guys.
You can choose to play one of your booster cards before any scene, these boosters include reducing the hint cooldown, freezing the clock or even flashing all of the items in a scene for you. While they can be very powerful it is worth saving them for a scene you are stuck on or when you really need a star.
You collect stars by scoring points in a scene, and as the story unfolds you use them to open up new cases and new parts of the story you are working now. The stars you collect are not lost, you simply need to have a certain amount to unlock the next stage. You can replay each scene as many times as you want, but they maximum number of stars per scene is 5.
There is a really nice look to The Hidden Truth, the art style is really nice and consistent and the scenes themselves are really high quality. This is a very polished game and it feels smooth when you play with everything just flowing really nicely, and the tutorials as you go and the tips are also pretty useful too.
Overall this is a pretty good game, especially for a free game on Facebook there are lots of fun scenes, and some new new innovative things that keep the game feeling fresh in a competitive market. With its shiny styling and great gameplay there is a lot of fun to be found in The Hidden Truth. The Hidden Truth Summary
