Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Tracks of Terror, SWM: Tracks of Terror for short, is a splendid hidden object game set in the town of Gevudan that's been under a curse for many centuries. It's a delight to play as it has great visuals, top notch sound effects, engaging gameplay and a solid plot to round everything off.
Upon launching SWM: Tracks of Terror for the first time, players will be shown a small cinematic intro that gives some insight into the plot of the game. This intro is followed up by the actual game itself which starts off with an interactive tutorial that's built to ease newcomers into the game but there's also the option to skip it which is quite nice for the veterans. There are a total of four difficulty settings so all players will be able to enjoy the game at their own pace.
In SWM: Tracks of Terror you play the role of a French detective with a very impressive track record and are called upon by Pierre De Lupe in order to assist in solving the werewolf curse and saving the town but things quickly go awry and you end up in a race against time trying to save Pierre while keeping the curse away from the town. The plot is an absolute nail biter and keeps getting better as the game progresses.
In terms of gameplay, SWM: Tracks of Terror feels slightly different from your regular run-of-the-mill hidden object game. The main difference you'll find is that the hidden object scenes aren't like the generic list or image based types but instead they're shown in the form of stories. Each scene will have a backstory to tell and you'll be asked to find items while listening to the story in order to complete it. This is a nice change of pace and gives the game its own sense of uniqueness. Puzzle sequences are pretty amazing as well, there are many distinct types of puzzles to solve and each one is just as impactful and worthwhile as the last since they'll all help you progress by a fair bit.
In terms of visuals, SWM: Tracks of Terror is crazy good looking. The art-style is unlike any other game from this genre before and it ends up working out really nicely with the overall theme. The cut-scenes are often action packed and are elevated to a whole new level with the brilliant voice acting, the animations are fluid and quite pleasing to look at so overall there's a lot of eye candy to be enjoyed here.
Upon downloading SWM: Tracks of Terror for the first time, you'll be able to play it for 90 minutes on a trial basis after which it can be purchased for its standard price which will lift all time restrictions and allow you to play as long as you want.
Thrilling plot, immersive gameplay and beautiful graphics, Shadow Wolf Mysteries: Tracks of Terror has it all. Tracks of Terror Summary
