Invasion: Lost In TIme
Replay your favorite mini puzzles from the main menu.
Enjoy a storyline involving time travel and lots of mystery.
Use your skills in spotting objects in piles to solve the game’s HO puzzles.
What would you if you were an archaeologist and you found a sarcophagus with a mummy and a cellphone inside? Worse, how would you feel if you see that the mummy looks like you? You’d certainly want to get to the bottom of this, and you need the best help that you can get!
Such is the storyline for Invasion: Lost In Time. An archaeologist unearths a stone coffin and is shocked to find out that the mummy bears a resemblance to him. The mummy also carried a cellular phone, a technology that’s certainly non-existent 5,000 years ago. So Mike does what he thinks is best – he called his best investigator to the scene. You, as the player, take over that role.
The pacing of the story in this Hidden Object is definitely superb. You don’t feel rushed at all, but there’s a feeling of suspense, like something is lurking around the corner. The Hidden Objects puzzles here are unique as well. If you want to pace your progress, the game locks the objects into three “compartments” that can only be opened by devices that you can find in the puzzle itself. There are 12 objects to be located in the Hidden Object puzzle, so each compartment has 4 objects each.
You can always open all four compartments at once, but the addition of compartmentalization is something fresh and unique that Invasion: Lost In Time can totally call its own.
You’ll find that objects are marked in yellow. These are objects, as you might have been familiar with in other Hidden Objects games, that require a special action in order to reveal themselves and be taken off the list.
The game also features a Bonus section at the Main Menu. If you click on it, you’ll find it is a collection of mini-games that you can play at the side. The mini-puzzles that you play in the game to unlock certain items that’s necessary for making the narrative forward can be replayed in that menu as well. This is a welcome reprieve, especially if you’ve been playing the game for a bit and you’d like to play something fresh. You don’t have to install a separate game, because the mini-puzzles in the game are numerous and varied.
Of course, worth noting is the game’s storyline. The premise is not unique, because it had been explored in a novel and its subsequent film adaptation. However, the mysterious nature of the time paradoxes featured in the plot is enough to perk your curiosity and ultimately drive you to want to play the game until the end.
There are two difficulty settings in Invasion: Lost in Time, namely the Casual and the Difficult modes. Casual features fast-charging hints and skip timers. The Difficult mode takes a far longer time to recharge for these two features.
Find out how good the game really is by downloading a free demo from Big Fish. You have an hour to try the game out and see if it is indeed your cup of tea. Invasion: Lost In Time Summary
