Collect letters and chips to earn hints and use those hints to complete some of the more challenging levels
Join the awkward and nerdy high school girl, Leigh, on her journey of self-discovery in this amazingly entertaining yet challenging hidden object game, Clutter VI: Leigh's Story. Players will definitely be treated to a ton of variations to the conventional hidden object scenes that most HO players might be used to while having to solve interesting “Slider” puzzles in between scenes.
If you’ve played any games in the Clutter series, you might have known that those games aren’t really known for their stories or artwork. However, this time around, Clutter VI doesn’t only get a nice graphical revamp thanks to a collaboration done by the developer of the game, Joe, with artist, April, as well as writer and musician, Brigid. The art style and background tunes suit perfectly with the game’s incredibly heartwarming story about Leigh who wanted to give herself a fresh start by changing her name.
Of course, Clutter VI is not all about the story, music or the art though – the game’s many hidden object scenes and puzzles make up a huge portion of the game’s fun factor too. In fact, being someone who has not played any of Mr Joe’s games before, I went in blind and was pleasantly surprised.
Each hidden object scene in Clutter VI feels like a breath of fresh air. There are simply so many different variations to each hidden object scene – some of which I’ve never even heard of – and a number of them can be pretty challenging even to a HOG veteran.
There is a scene where you’ll have to match 2 exactly same objects together, while there’s another which require you to match 3 items all at once to remove them from the playing area. These levels are admittedly still pretty easy to complete. However, before you get a chance to scoff and say to yourself “Too easy”, you’ll be whammed with scenes where you have to match 2 halves of an object or match the black-and-white version of an object with the colored version. The game was aptly named “Clutter” alright!
Thankfully, for each scene, you can collect neon colored letters and poker chips to fill up your hint meter and get a free hint. There’s no apparent limit as to how many hints you can accumulate so be sure to keep your pile of hints well-stocked up. You never know when you’ll need them to complete a level.
Let’s also not forget about the game’s amazing Slider puzzles where you’ll need to drag and drop strips of an image in its correct position so you can see the complete picture. These puzzles aren’t exactly difficult to solve. I believe they serve as a nice pause for you to catch your breath before diving back into the clusters of objects once again.
To sum up, Clutter VI: Leigh’s Story is quite different from the other games in the series due to its brilliant new artwork, nicer music and an engaging storyline. However, the game retains and perhaps even improves on its gameplay by adding in hidden object scenes with unique and more challenging game rules and conditions.
So, if you’re looking for a hidden object game that have an uplifting and, for some, close-to-heart story and a gameplay that will simply wow you, Cluster VI: Leigh’s Story is definitely a game you should buy. Still not convinced? Well, you can give the game a try first by downloading the game’s demo from Big Fish Games. Clutter VI: Leigh's Story Summary
