They say the world is a harsh one to live in and one way people get by through the cruel and unkind reality of life is the anticipation of a life of relief beyond the human world. Passing on to the next life is difficult for anyone but what hurts more is the fact that moving on to the next life is obstructed and the much anticipated respite from worldly problems is put on hold.
Such is the case for the children and the headmaster of the Cinderstone children’s orphanage. One day an explosion rattled the whole orphanage thus killing everyone in it—including the orphanage’s preceptress. After the accident, however, the souls of the victims aren’t able to move on – as if something is holding them back and sucking their energy.
In the hidden object game, Agency of Anomalies: Cinderstone Orphanage, players assume the role of a special private investigator who is tasked to investigate the mysterious explosion that took the life of all of the inhabitants in the orphanage.
Investigation begins by careful exploration and discovery. As the players begin the game, a quick tutorial may begin which will help the players throughout the game. One of the tools that is surely helpful is the notebook wherein every clue and information that is gathered throughout the game is stashed in the notebook and can be accessed by checking two of the tabs in the notebook—documents and story.
As the players continue on walk around the area checking for clues, there will be several actions available for the player. Once the cursor turns into a magnifying glass, it signifies further exploration into another scene. Then there will be times that the cursor may turn into a hand which entails interaction from the player. To guide the player on where to proceed and go, sparkles will be floating around an area which means that the player may examine the area for more clues.
Upon entering the orphanage, the player discovers that there is a special machine that enhances the children’s special abilities inside the orphanage. As it could be the thing that is keeping the souls from moving on peacefully, the player must search for the special machine and make it work.
Aside from looking for the machine, the players are also tasked to seek out the various items the victims own in order to gain their special abilities—which will help the player in solving the case.
Looking for the special contraption, and its parts, require initiating different hidden object scenes. As with most hidden object games, the objects that need to be found are listed below and will be crossed out once they have been found. The items that are in a red font means that there is a mini puzzle that needs to be solved.
When it comes to puzzles, players will have to solve a variety of puzzles such as combination puzzles, match puzzles, and even picture puzzles.
